Use of IPL

Does the IPL work on all skin colors?

The IPL is suitable for all skin tones except the darkest. Indeed, the light energy can be more attracted by the pigments of the skin rather than by the melanin in the hair. Refer to the skin tone table below to see if IPL is right for you or not.

Does the IPL work on all hair colors?

The IPL is based on melanin in the hairs absorbing light energy, and therefore the IPL is less effective on very light blonde, red or gray hair.

Can I use the IPL on tattoos?

You should not use an IPL epilator on tattoos. The light energy will be more attracted by the pigments of the skin rather than by the melanin of the hairs which can cause a cutaneous reaction and blisters. You should always shop around for your tattoos.

Does this remove hair permanently?

You should be careful when someone claims "permanent" hair removal, as all forms of IPL / laser hair removal require some maintenance, otherwise the hair will start to grow again. After you finish your sessions, you will only have to use your Pulsor once every 3 months to maintain smooth, hairless skin.

Can I use the IPL during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Although there is no evidence that IPL has negative effects on pregnant or breastfeeding women, we still do not recommend using our handset as a precaution.

Can I use IPL on freckles or moles?

You should not use IPL on very dark freckles or moles, but light freckles.

Do I have to shave before using this product?

Yes, you must shave the desired areas before using your Pulsor. A close shave is preferable. The goal is that the light energy reaches the hair follicle as quickly as possible, so it is essential to shave beforehand to get the best results. The hair follicle must be in contact for the IPL to be effective. It means no type of hair removal.

Can I use this product before or after tanning?

If you have recently tanned, we recommend that you wait 2 weeks before using your Pulsor. You must wait 48 hours before exposing yourself to the sun. The same goes for artificial tanning. We advise you to eliminate any artificial tanning before using our Pulsor. You can reapply an artificial tan 1 to 2 hours after your session.

I have PCOS. Will it work for me?

The IPL can certainly be used on hormonal hair growth and has proven to be effective!

I have epilepsy. Is the IPL right for me?

The IPL will not be suitable for you if you suffer from epilepsy.

Is it suitable for men?

Absolutely! Pulsor is suitable for both men and women.
